MOJ Delegation visiting D.C. and New York, USA

Deputy Minister Hsu of the Ministry of Justice led a delegation to the United States from this December. The delegation included Director-General Michelle Yu-Mei Meng of the Department of International and Cross-Strait Legal Affairs (ICLA), MOJ, Chief Prosecutor Huang Yuan-Kuan of the Nantou District Prosecutors Office, Head Prosecutor Tsai Yen-Chen of the Department of Prosecutorial Affairs, MOJ, Prosecutor Julie, Pei-Ju Wang of the ICLA, MOJ, Prosecutor Lin Yi-Hsien of the Miaoli District Prosecutors Office, and Prosecutors Investigator Sabrina Ting-Ju Syu of the ICLA, MOJ.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Headquarters, the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Headquarters, the HSI New York El Dorado Task Force Office, and Columbia University. The delegation also toured the U.S. Supreme Court and participated in activities with the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).

Key topics of discussion included utilizing technological investigative methods, combatting cross-border fraud, drug trafficking, and anti-money laundering, cryptocurrency tracing, extradition of fugitives, and training programs for prosecutors. The visit facilitated substantial exchanges and strengthened cooperative relationships.
